Yes, and it happens every now and then. Usually occurs with section policies.

(Not a mod question again but probably will not be answered but worth asking)
Will Naruto-Boards or even Naruto-Arena ever be redesigned and themed?

Does the moderator application change bi-annually when you are searching for moderators? If so, is the application changed drastically or minor?

answers:
1. Yes.
2. For the most part, yes.
3. Probably some more of a "buddy-ish" system so that members actually have a chance to meet the moderating staff.

There may be another topic like this, I'm sure we could do it again after some time.

There's a firefox skin for it. That's about it.

Phonas was referring to Moderator reviews/evaluations which occur bi-annually. Not Moderator recruitment applications.
I heard you all recruit twice a year also. Summer and Winter. Maybe it changed, don't know. Unless it just depends whether it is needed or not. Anyways, that's what I was talking about. Does the application form or questions get revised in any way? If so, are changes typically drastic or minor?

Nah we don't recruit twice a year. With how large our staff is I imagine the next recruitment to be about 10 months from now, give or take. It always depends on how many moderators are lost.

Yes the application and questions do get revised. Usually the change to the application is major.

Is public recruitment more favorable now, or is private recruitment going to be more likely?

Why do the new moderators always have wooden phallus wedged so deep into their rectal cavity?
Shoot for the moon!
Even if you miss you'll land among the stars

I prefer public recruitment. Private recruitment may occur very very rarely, and it will usually only be ex-moderators or 'borderline' grades from the previous public recruitment.

It's not that they're evil or mean. New moderators simply do not have the experience and are learning the rules. The rules are written black and white, and it simply takes time to see all the gray in between. It's a lot harder than one would think, I've certainly been there done that. I saw it in black and white for a year or more. Yikes.

I'm locking the topic now, for the last time.

I want to thank everyone here for asking questions and showing care and concern for the forums and its staff. I sincerely hope that this topic was enlightening as to what actually goes on in the backroom to a degree to some of you at least. I understand this is only the start, and I hope many of you will continue to help us improve the forums. I also hope you begin to feel that your voices are heard and your ideas considered.

This staff team we have now is a wonderful one, an array of different personalities, ideas, and persons. I hope you can recognize this and begin to see the type of people they are outside of the one's delivering you a warning. The big picture, so to speak. I'll give you a spoiler, they aren't inherently evil and rotting at the core.

We're going to try different things, we're going to make mistakes, and we're going to try and help the forums in ways we think best. That's where all of you come in. Make suggestions, spread your ideas, share your disagreement with certain changes on the forum. No I'm not giving you a ticket to publicly try and crucify a moderator for giving you an unfair warning or doing something wrong. You should report that. What I'm saying is, if you don't like a rule, or if you think a change on the forum was a wrong one. Say something politely about it. That Suggestions section is there for a reason. Help guide us, as we will be more actively seeking out your opinions. This is all about the members, always has been.

You can't stop asking questions here. My inbox, and certainly other members of the moderation staff have inboxs, that are open to you members whenever you see fit. I hope that you can start trusting us with your concerns, or at least try to do so. If you don't like that Moderator's reply, talk to a GM or myself. If you're still not happy, then yes feel free to complain to your friends. I expect no less, but at least give us a shot first. We won't always have the reply or answer your looking for, I certainly don't gurantee that. It just doesn't hurt to try.

I have a lot of hopes. I have said it a lot. I can't do it without the staff and certainly not without members.
Kousei.
