I just got Final Fantasy IV for the DS yesterday, and I have to say: IT'S AWESOME!

Seriously, though, it's very well done. It has cut scenes (no surprise, I'm sure) with voices. The cut scenes make the storyline even more deep seeing as to how you can hear their tone of voice. It's hard for me to describe, but you should know what I meant if you've played it yourself. >_>

The difficulty of the game has definitely increased. I would've died at Scarmiglone (also known as Milon, the Elemental Lord of Earth) if it weren't for some level-grinding I did to buy the paladin armor at Mysidia.

Oh, and about the voices... The person who does the voice over for Cecil, the main character, is Sasuke from the English version of Naruto!! xD

And the voice over for Kain, Cecil's friend, is done by the guy who does Yami Yugi, I think. Anyway, if you have anything to say about it, go ahead.

Other than voices, what makes it so different from the GBA version?

And difficulty.

Edit:Fuck you,Sasuke is in every fucking voice.

Does he have the same voice he does for Sasuke?

Not much, really. And if you mean if he sounds the same, then sometimes.

Well, I have all the versions of this game, I think, so, uh... sure.

Seriously, I'd pick it up. There's something about it that seems better than the other versions for some reason... >_> I guess it's the difficulty.

And there is no hidden dungeon, and you can't switch party members at the end like the GBA version. ...And Namingway appears a lot more now and is a little funny...

@bugmaster: That is off topic, and therefore spam. Spam again, and a mod will be notified.

Do the twins have lame voices?(This will make me buy the game or not)

Actually, you only hear them speak once... so far... which sucks.

And their voices aren't that bad, really. Nobody's voice over is.

EDIT: And there's a Help menu at the bottom of the lower screen. It shows detailed information about attacks, monsters, etc...

To get the information for the monsters to show up, you have to scan one of that type of monster, which I think is pretty cool.

I just got this game yesterday as well.

I think I've noticed the difficulty increase too... I lost my first few tries on Scarmiglone. >_> Though I got past it through strategizing. I haven't had the need to really grind yet aside from the moment I got the twins.
Oh, and I just fought Cagnazzo who was a bitch too. He beat me the first time and I hadn't saved in a while. -_- I almost lost the next time too but managed to kill him just in time...
Kind of worries me about what the next of the four fiends have in store for me. >_>

<3 this game.

It's FF4 in original Japanese numerology.

I played a bit of it, however technical problems stopped me from continuing the pace. Overall impression is very good. What surprised me the most is the fact that they wanted to add NDS graphics to it. The Psx version contained the movies and that is about it. All the other characteristics were left the same, I guess.

Voices is a good improvement on the power of DS games overall. With this maybe more will feature the option. How about cinematic movies? Do they appear throughout the game or only the intro.

I also like the map, menus and even customization elements when opening the status bar. It shows a model view of the current character which is very interesting.

Now what really let me down at first glance was the title music. Either Nobuo Uematsu has lost inspiration or Square is just lazy and wants to make some sort of legacy thing. But I got tired of that music from the start of FF XII.

We all know the capabilities of Uematsu very well. FFIX can highly attest to that, but this sort of recurrence just bothered me .

Now lastly, in the original game the name was Hemingway

Like the famous author. It would be a let down if they changed the name, here. Just not the same feeling, I guess. And the FF IX spin-off card reference was just blissful.

Just wait till you get to the Tower of Babil. >_>

That place pwned me for a while... And if you want, PM me and I'll tell you a secret to defeating Lugae.

As of right now, I just entered Eblan Cave.
