So I had just finished an anime and wanted something new to watch and i stumbled upon this new anime recently made named Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu
So far there is only one episode, but the episode is broken down into 2 23min parts.

The story is really interesting and has that Erased kind of feel.

Honestly, I didn't expect much from this anime before I watched the first episode (A & B), but hot damn, it got dark. I'm sold.

Spoiler
By far, my favorite scene was his second death scene, truly, whoever directed that deserves a prize.

^ That was a masterpiece.

Don't forget to add some basic information to your topic. I have edited it for you now, but please read the rules next time before creating an official discussion topic.

Ontopic, it seems interesting and I might give it a try.

It's also theorized that it was a "mission failed".

TBH this is probably my favorite show this season.

Betraying big order already?
I enjoy it, but I hate it because it makes me want a Mushoku Tensei adaption.
But I don't want a Mushoku Tensei adaption.

I'll post something later for first impressions.

Big Order would be a lot better if it was Mirai Nikki.

Watched first 4 episodes, this is actually pretty good. I guess I wish it took itself a little more seriously, but the dark scenes are still interesting.

in my opinion started really good , something is still fishy about the story and about his "power" , and how can only the loli goth girl remembers him? anyway its a nice anime to pass time , but not in my top 20 , recommend it if you dont have anything else good to watch

She didn't remember him. He "respawned" after when he initially met her. Remember when he first woke up and met her, she knocks him out THEN he wakes up with the maids in his room. So it's not that she remembers the previous run, it's that he "respawned" at the second wake up scene where he meets the maids.

First of all, this anime is both very generic and very unique.

In most Fantasy/stuck in a virtual reality/sao bullcrap, you die=end. Here, it's actually logical, since it follows the pattern of a real game. You die=respawn at the previous checkpoint. We've seen the premise done a lot of times and some of us are sick already. But, for me, this is the first time that it's actually understandable and reasonable. I can totally imagine him being the player controlled character in this world.

And, at the same time, it's very deep and dark. The fact that he retains the memories of his past lives, but nobody else does, can and will take a tole on his psyche. Imagine yourself in his shoes: How many times can you die? How many times can you see your friends forget the memories you created, the feelings you shared? Will you be able to stay sane?

I honestly like this anime a lot and can't wait to see the next episode each week. Being stuck in a fantasy world apparently isn't all it's cracked out to be.

In this context, it's not really used. In fact, I'd say save points/respawns are underused concepts in video game-like stories. Unless you mean time travel as a whole, which can end up being a cheap gimmick to make something more interesting (Erased was good but the time travel wasn't even explained x_x), but it fits really well in Re:Zero.

I'm also really excited for this show because it's getting two cours, so it's not gonna feel like most shows these days where they end after they finally get going.
